Another World (aka "Out of This World" in the U.S.) was originally developed for the Amiga in the early 90s. It was later ported to a variety of platforms, including the SEGA Mega Drive ("Genesis").
All of the art for this one is original aside from the dev logos and screen shots. I rendered the earth in lightwave using texture from the web. Other than that, the rest of the box was painted by hand in Photoshop.
#5, No, most genesis boxes actually had more of the red stripe on the front along the right side. I tried to emulate that, but I found that there just wasn't enough space for the art, so I decided to stray from the classic genesis template for the front. This is a bit of a fantasy box. I decided to add the ESRB rating since the game has been subsequently rated, even though the original game did not carry a rating.
Great images and nicely put together... although I'm not a fan of the box partly because Another World was one of my favourite games on the Amiga --- it had the most awesome animation in it's day -- certainly one of the best platform adventure games around, and the box doesn't seem to reflect the actual game IMO. Oh.. nice temp ;)
#10, Fair enough. It was also one of my favorites and I felt that the appeal of the game was the way that it played so enigmatically. Obviously there's only one or two actual art images out there for this game, and frankly, they're poor. I decided to take a completely different angle on the game and illustrate the inter-dimensional rift that separates our world from "the other place". I think it's far more appealing to the eye than a picture of a redhaired guy standing in a cave.
