I never played any of the Marathon games (only pre-Halo Bungie game I played was Pathways into Darkness), but I seriously wouldn't doubt it if Bungie let some other studio do this since they focus 100% of their studio onto one game at a time.
I think it's damned nice, but you're missing Bungie's logo (despite what I just said above) and the MS Game Studio logo.

Wasn't the Marathon series a Mac OS game franchise? Why would MICROSOFT Xbox have it on their gaming platform?

Because bungie makes games for microsoft? Just because it's a Mac game, dosn't mean apple owns the series.
