Hey guys! I'm returning back to Criterion boxes.

Anyway, I decided to do my all-time favourite movie: The Departed. I wanted to do the theme of duality. I used rats to represent the two main characters, as they are moles for the two sides in the film: the police and the mob. The guns represent the two sides, and they point at the rats because in the film, the moles get pressurized undercover.

Enjoy! :D

Totally awesome. And a very deserving movie for the Criterion Collection.

The two rats on the back aren't textured as they are on the front...

This box is amazing, just pointing that out...

Really really great stuff here! I'm a big Criterion collector myself (pricey hobby) and I'm glad to see someone else who enjoys the box artwork they present. Am I wrong or is this film NOT yet an actual Criterion release?

I like that you put so much thought into the design. I think the what you illustrated the dichotomy of the film is spot on. At first I was a bit confused by the rats but after reading your description I really like the way it works. Wonderful job in creating symmetry and setting the tone for an amazing film.

If you continue Criterion, would you maybe do one of my favorites:
"Le Samurai", "The Third Man", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" or "Rashomon"

Great work ElCrazy, and good to see you stuck with your own color scheme. It certainly is far interesting than the regular black/white.

Thematically, the box is brilliant.
