Here's my Round 2 box for KoopaDasher's OctoberFest.
Round 2's theme was Duality. This idea made me think of one game franchise: Persona. The entire theme of the series is that we have another side to who we are, so it was ripe to use for this concept. I portrayed that, I think, pretty well on the front. The idea is that there is glass shattering in the background, reflecting the main character's persona. Also, I have the other two characters' personas depicted behind them.
On the back, I think I forgot the theme a little, but it still has concepts of duality, such as the tagline.
I hope people enjoy this!
Credit to ADFD for the ESRB, as well as the images I used as a basis for my higher res template. I actually rebuilt the whole thing from scratch basically, and modeled a CD case for the box.
Creative Uncut was the source for many of my images, though I really had to scour the net to find some of the images.
Great job on this one too, the front is really crazy and something about the back makes it very pleasing to look at. A good fallow up to you last round box.
#5, that's one of the reasons why I did this. There isn't a ton of art that is in high enough resolution for my liking for this game, so that made this more of a challenge than I meant it to be.
#3, I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I would honestly be surprised if it got Hall. I haven't gotten one in a long time. Not that it really matters, as long as there are people who do appreciate my work.
The back is excellent.. the front, not so much. Tatsuya and Ulala's placements (as well as their respective personas) look awkward and make the front composition look really crowded.
I do dig the concept though as well as the chains you incorporated and the logo.
#9, Yes, I can agree with that. I originally wanted to do something like the original Japanese box, with the double image of Maya, but I couldn't find art big enough so I had to scrap the idea and do something else. The chain is an idea I got from looking at the image of Tatsuya with barb wire wrapped around his head.
Thank you ADFD, and everybody else for the comments and, of course, the favs as well. It's proof that I'm at least doing something right lol.
