First box I've made in quite a while! Been getting into Myst a lot lately and thought I'd make a cover for it. Based on the design of the actual Myst linking book in the game.

I LOVE the background idea, the old book effect sticks perfectly with the Myst universe. Sure there is no logo on the front except the name, but it matches how old books were made. Nice touch for the logo on the side
However, the pictures on the back, plus the description, it looks too easy, like they were placed there with no real intention, just to feel some blanks. Plus the look of the parchment is very generic, boring, it does not look real. It looks photoshopped.
Great potentials, but the back misses its target. I'll keep an eye for your next boxes, especially if you make others for the Myst serie.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel I'm strong in some areas of design but definitely lacking in others, and the other areas are the majority, unfortunately. I certainly appreciate your criticism. I did run out of inspiration when I got to the back. Perhaps I'll do more research in back face design and fine-tune this section in the future.
I'm working on a Riven box at the moment. I'm trying to copy the design of the Riven book from the beginning of Exile, which is the only time you ever see the Riven book's cover in the whole series. It's going to be a little more difficult, but I'm liking the progress already. I'll try putting more thought into the back face. Maybe something that's a little more fitting, like the pictures and writing are actually a part of the book itself. Thank you!
