Here's yet another Rise of the Tomb Raider cover from me.
Pretty much every box on this site follows the 'snowy' colour scheme, so I wanted to go for a completely different design. It's heavily inspired by a Tomb Raider T-Shirt I own, along with Matknapers18's The Last of Us cover which was abandoned. (thanks again Mat for giving me the okay to continue with this).
Thanks for looking :)

Fucking yes, it's great to see something quite different from the usual RotTR boxes. The only gripe I have with this is that "head" or something to the left of Lara, the one on the right looks fine, but I don't think the one in the left fits. although I do get that you needed something to make it not look as unbalanced, and I don't really know what you can put there to make it look better.
Aside from that, fantastic job, Nathan! :D

Thanks a lot Frank :)
With this uh.. "head" you mentioned, I don't quite get what you mean. Do you mean the red circle? If so that's supposed to be a setting sun on both sides of the cover, and I do understand what you mean with that.

@TheTombRaider The "head" I mean, is that thing to the left of Lara, in the front. The one that has that kind of smokey effect on it. The sunset looks fine IMO.

@FrankBedbroken Oh! The campfire. Yeah I wasn't too sure about that either when I first put it on, because the smokey effect does stand out.

not bad

Can't say it doesn't look good, but there's been a lot of boxes that have been using the cutout filter recently and I don't know how well it fits the game's aesthetic...

Thanks for the feedback Sarashi, I know what you mean, I only used the cutout filter because I thought it fit the style of the design rather than the actual game.

Love the splash of red. Not sure about the cutout filter? (I think that's what it's called), but it definitely looks best when not full-viewed. It's not a game breaker, so I can say this is still a really nicely composed box.

I like the different style and how it's been executed. One thing that kind of stands out is the red dot, which I'm guessing represents Japan? Just because that was the focus of the last game, not Rise.

Nope, that's supposed to be a setting sun, which was supposed to represent the sunny location in Rise. To be fair, I did get that idea off a T Shirt from the official TR store which is based on the reboot, so I guess it originally was supposed to represent Japan as well as a sun

@TheTombRaider All I could remember was the snow. It kind of matches the soviet thing anyway.

design wise, it's really quite cool, I like the colour scheme alot, looks really different and interesting. though I agree with the others that the cutout filter isn't the best option to achieve that effect, though it is the easiest/least time consuming so I can understand why you did it, and it's only really an issue when viewing it in full screen the preview looks pretty damn amazing. Keep it up dude =)

Honestly, I dont overly mind the "cutout" filter. I really like how you have done "square enix presents" at the top and the overall concept is really cool.
My issue is the horizon, more for the front cover. The sun looks way too big. I also feel like the fronts horizon is missing parts. If you had some mountains (like the back cover) behind the grass layer and the sun behind the mountains would look better.

Thanks Vince, I think I'll try out that idea when I get chance :)
