I used gimp. It's one of the better free photo editors (and since I use a mac it's one of the few I was able to find that actually works).

Cant blame you for the back being a bit empty, with the head taking so much space.
Good concept, but the quality is really low. The letters have non-perfect white outlines, and the images used have really low quality. I reccomend you to use waifu2x, its a really useful tool for that kind of problems
