I've always wanted to do an N64 boxart, so this is what I've done for the past hours. This game takes place after Super Metroid (August 20th!!!!!!) and before Metroid Fusion.
I wanted to give it a retro feel to it, like as if it was made in 1996 or 97. I highly doubt it'll be a hall of famer, but I'm just wondering what you guys think about it.
The N64 template was taken from here: link - and slightly modified, for those concerned about who's template I used.
Comments, constructive criticisms, and faves are welcome. Flaming, and negative comments aren't. :)
Good job, I like this one. It's a shame that the quality of the template isn't that good though, a small stroke on the text would've helped as well as making the reflections more transparent.
...pretty...I'm diggin' the retro style overall for back/front/cartrige. Although I don't like how the screenshots are from prime and look all 21st century"ish"...doesn't really matter, I feel you've captured the whole retro style well enough, fav
I'll fave it cause I love the retro style, but you should really find some Metroid 64 or at least some sidescrolling Metroid screens. Prime was the first Metroid FPS.
Have I mentioned that I love this box? The style is incredible, you perfectly captured the N64 style. And I must say, I have never played a Metroid game other than the Prime series, but this really makes me want to go out and buy Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. I also love how you included the Metroid Hunters screenshots. Amazing box. It definitely deserves to be in the Hall. Also, could you pm me that logo? I love that...
