Right, so this is my idea of what it would be like if Sonic Unleashed had happened on the dreamcast.
The dreamcast being my first system, and my favorite to date, this was pretty fun to do.If some things look odd, (Characters ploating, 2D on 3D, etc.) just know that's how they did their sonic covers back then.
Enjoy!

Thank you!
(Version one is simpley without the presentation, I suggest you take a look at that one aswell)
Seriously dude, nice job. The only nitpick I have is that the remaining art, like the little squirrelly guy and the ship in the background are not 2D art as well, but the rest of it is just awesome. Nice.
#5, I know that there is some 2D on 3D going on here, but I looked back on SA & SA2, and they bothe did that.
And the squirrelly guy, (Chip) is 2D aswell...
You've really come a long way, Eggboy. I hope you're aware of how much you've improved. When you first joined, I suspected that you were a troll, because you were so bad. Now you've really started to hold your own.
Moving on, I think this is an excellent box. I'm always happy to see a box for a game done in a different style, and the various Sonic art styles are no exception. My one real complaint is that Chip is A) acknowledged at all. I fucking hate that guy, and B) a CG image. He's not consistent with the rest of the picture. I know you've already addressed this by saying that it happened on official Sonic boxes, but that doesn't mean it's an okay thing to do.
It was a bad decision on their part, and it's a bad idea here too. Besides, Chip is such a badly written, annoying, unpleasant, and insignificant part of the game (Save the very end), I really don't think he should be on the cover. It's like having Froggy on the cover to SA1. I mean, sure, Froggy played a pretty big role in the overall story, but who cares? He's not an interesting character.
Aside from that, I think both the front and back are delightfully well-done. It's always nice to see a well made Sonic box.
I too hate Chip, though he is in fact consistant with the style. link (I admit it does not appear as so.) Looking back I DO wish I had'nt put him there. =P

Despite you being a somewhat controversial member on this site, you do make some good art. So kudos to you.
