Still, don't use paint. Nothing has changed really.

EDIT: Again, nothing has changed with the new version.

It's gone beyond funny now. Learn how to use something proper or don't bother submitting boxes. Sorry if I sound blunt but I know a lot of people will agree.

#4, Totally agreed.
I'm sorry, but this is not very good at all. Use an actual template, actual render, actual logo, and actual devs. Perhaps you'll get better then.

I would also recommend downloading a different program, instead of using paint, use paint.net or Gimp. If you have the money, use photoshop.

#5,#4,
I totally agree. Before I got Paint.net, I used Paint, but I went online to get logos and pictures, at least.

#8, Look at other boxarts, both real ones and the ones on this site. are they crudely drawn with paint? No. Boxes use proper images and proper templates.

#2, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14. Flaming the box of a new user is just miserable. All of you are just saying "OMG THATS SO FUNNI LAWL!" Rather than actually trying to help him. Ive lost a lot of respect for all of you. And, telling him to "well, learn" is definitely not help. He's a new user, and we've all been there, so rather than flaming him, and scaring him off the site, be a bit mature for once in your lives and actually rather than saying that something is bad, explain WHY.

Now, about the box.
1. Try using these templates, make sure to credit jevangod.
Wii: link
DS: link

2. Try to use these ESRB and dev logos.
Nintendo (for this logo, just go around it with the magic wand and delete): link
ESRB: link

3. Now for your images & logo. If you know how to render, or want to learn (pm jevangod, glaedr or spypilot), use this site: www.mariowiki.com/Main_Page
If you dont know how to render, use this site, however there is less variety and you need to make an account: www.planetrenders.net
Remember, if there is an image you want, send it to someone with an open logo shop and they will give it a transparent background for you. You can also search our forums and resource section, which is drowning in logos and pics.

4. Remember when saving your image, dont just copy and paste, because the image will lose its transparency. Right click and save your images to the desktop, then open them in paint.net.

For more help, link

EDIT: If you ever want some help with your boxes, feel free to pm me.

EDIT2: now that I think about it, I have a sunshine logo on my computer :p. I will upload, make sure you credit me :)

#16: Thanks, that'll help me with my boxes too! I need help with mine :).

But anyway, I chuckled at this, so I guess I fav'd it. I dunno why, since I usually only fav the greatest and awesomest boxes.

#16, I see where you;re coming from but at the same time, if you have two human eyes you can quite easily see that 99% of boxes on this site (even the bad ones) are not drawn on paint. Proper images are used, templates, text, logos, etc. To show bad skill is one thing, but to show total disregard for what seems to be completely obvious is just ignorance. I'm all for improving and making better stuff and gaining new skills but when after three boxes you're still just scribbling on paint, it's a bit stale.

So okay, here's some tips rather than just grumbling.

Download GIMP. It's a program very similar to Photoshop. You can get it at link .

Look around online for some tutorials if you're unsure what you're doing.

Use templates kindly created by users on this very site.

Look at other people's (and official) boxarts and see what's happening.

Start with something simple and get feedback on it.

Over time, you'll come to see that most boxes whilst amazing looking are more just a combination of various techniques you can learn. sure some are way more difficult to learn than others, but stick at it and in time, you'll come to create better boxes.

LightSamus out.

I use MS Paint. People SO underestimate that program. I've seen amazing graphics made with it that people who use Photoshop and GIMP have to put their eyes back into their sockets after seeing. I'm serious, they're that amazing!

Well, I'm completely series except for the part about eyes falling out of their sockets.
