[Now keep in mind I have NEVER done a box quite like this.]
As many of you know, I'm more of an actor than I am a box designer. I've been involved with theatre for a long time. And since I've entered High School I've been involved with numerous plays. And whenever we get them video taped by the broadcasting class, I make my own DVD cover using pictures my mom takes from the shows. So this fall we were doing "Othello" as our competition piece when some stuff happened and we were falsly disqualified from the next competition. So we had two weeks to pull something togather gor districts. So we did Edward Albee's "The Zoo Story." Well, let's just say we won state level competition with it.
Anyways, this box is loaded with symolism. The black and white defines Peter's life as well as Jerry's isolation. I went for a more simplistic design here which also signifies how on the surface this play seems to simplistic, but deep down it's very complex.
Lastly, for safety reasons I removed all names and such on the box. So, anyways, I just wanted to try something different. Thank you.
Well i love simplicity alot...and this box is so simplisticly beautiful it is not even funny. I think this has to be one of my favorite boxes that has been made on this site for a really long time... I seriously love the black ground across the whole box. So yea...i love it dude. Really really nice job
Simply beautiful. I'm not familiar with the play, but just taking in the feelings the imagery in the design evokes, I would guess it's pretty powerful. Excellent work.
Thanks guys. I appreciate it. It's a simply wonderful play. If you don't know it, I'd suggest checking it out, it's a rollercoaster.
And for those of you who've been curious over the last three years, that is me on the back. I played Peter. :P
And sorry but I'm not adding a template. There is simply no use for one for my purposes. I make these or my own personal use so a template really isn't necessary. I just wanted to share this with the site. And if that is what causes you not to fav, oh well, it's not worth it. Haha
"Hey mister, I've been to the zoo!"

It actually looks pretty good. At first I felt weird due to the black space at the bottom, but after a few seconds I grew to like it =p.
