Borderlands: Game Of The Year Edition box art cover
By avatar Daemon 46 on February 4th, 2012

Love this box so much. Before I continue, I need to give a huge shoutout to oldwillowjp of deviantArt (link) and Kale (link) for the absolutely gorgeous art I used for this box.
I saw the art done by oldwillowjp and definitely needed to make a box using it. After I came across Kale's work, I knew I had something good. Finally, after deciding that this would be a sideways box, it fell together pretty quickly.
I implore you to visit oldwillowjp's deviantArt page and favorite his art.
The template is Titan38's.

I see you favorited the box. It's a good "oh my god", right?

@Daemon I don't think a bad Oh my god would be humanly possible.

Might be your best box to date. The halftone pattern, as much opacque as it is now, can be distracting, but the design itself's great. Could've used dev logos and ratings, though.

I kind of felt ratings and dev logos would ruin the front. I put some dev logos on the back though.

@Daemon The blue guys being at the left of the girls + the logo being bolder in the left side make the front unbalanced, I think you should put something to the right to counterbalance this situation.

I like the artwork you've used. The lighthearted, chibi/anime style fits the occasionally hectic co-op experience that Borderlands offers. And because of that fact, I would have preferred if the front placed more emphasis on each character rather than Lilith taking the spotlight. This is understandable, though, since you were working within the limits of the art.

The halftone is incredibly distracting, however. While the effect is a key technique that can really bring out a comic-book style design, it's size and opacity here could be adjusted.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really want this to be another HoF-material box, so I'll work in some of your suggestions.

IMO, I don't like people using unofficial artworks and not their artworks. But this box is really nice that I need to fav! =)
