My first ever movie box art!
Wanted to give a bit of different look to a movie AVATAR which tends to have dark colors, so instead I used white as a background color.
As always, view full size.
Hope you like it. :)

Comment on deiviuxs's Avatar Box Art / Cover.
It's good to see the movie reflected in another color tone, and you pulled it off very well.

Love the colors, great job.

The only nitpick I'd have is, that the title doesn't stand out as much as it could (maybe another color our outline? I'd say black or dark blue would work better in terms of the fonts readability)
but really nice for a first :P

Thanks, but as far as the logo goes, I wanted to keep the logo colors original.

@deiviuxs Okay, I see.

The front is beautiful and colorful, but I can't feel that on the back. The legal part is low quality though.
[ Reply ]
The back is not colorful enough..? :/
[ Reply ]
Bump, because it is so sexy.

I like it, apart from a few things.
–The logo(the official is much better.)
-The gradients.
[ Reply ]
Thanks but why don't you like the logo? It's almost identical to the official one.
[ Reply ]
@deiviuxs The official one is thicker and more spaced out. Example: link

@Scorpion Soldier Oh ok..but I said almost.. :P

The back looks great but the face on the front looks awkward in my opinion
[ Reply ]
How is the face awkward on the front? The official cover and movie posters had almost exact face as well. link

Wow. The front is awesome. However the back seems a bit odd. IDK why, and maybe it's just me being crazy, but the placement of some things seems strange (Like the quotes, Jake, and the girl (I forgot her name) and the bottom "scene (the two silhouettes)). Anyway, it's a really good box.

Already favourited, never left a comment though. This design is pretty sweet, the blue/orange colours work extremely well together.
May I suggest one update though:
Add a slight white glow to the crew/cast text where it says "Twentieth century fox presents a James Cameron film" because it sort of blends with the above image.
Oh and if you get the time, I'd love a printable version. :)

Holy crap. I missed this?

Congrats on a well deserved HoF.

Damn guys, you're to nice! I never expected my first movie box to make it to HOF..I appreciate all your support and feedback!

Not worthy of Hall, in my opinion. The clipping of Jake's avatar on the front looks odd. His hear has obvious colors that do not belong. The use of the posterize filter over complex imagery is a bid fail.
The clippings on the back are not well done at all. The overall white background makes the box look too plain. A white background works better on a minimalist box. As an artist, one must be cautious when using filters.
I have seen much better work from you.

Thanks (I guess)...but let me explain few things: a) not sure what you mean by avatar's clipping on the front and by hear do you mean ear? b) I did not use posterize filter whatsoever. That kind of look was accomplished with various layer styles and custom coloring. c) as far as the white background goes, it was a simple design decision that I had from the beginning. If you read description, I wanted to go for a different take on AVATAR covers that seem to only use a black/dark background.
Thanks for your honest feedback and if you don't think this deserves a Hall then I accept that. I'm just glad others think differently (like MattStar few comments above).

@deiviuxs
Yeah, I meant ear, not hear. For some reason, we cannot edit comments.
The clipping I am referring to is what most of you guys call "render." It is called clipping in the professional graphics world.
The styles you used look too much like you used filters to get the look. Instead of using filters, try using color and level adjustments. This gives you so much more control over each part of the image.
As I said before, the white background would have worked better with more negative space. In this work, it just makes the whole effort look cheap. You would have been better served to use a light colored sky background to fill the negative space.

@Crotale
That "render" on the front is not really a render. It was part of the image. I just edited the background and the avatar itself but it's not a separate render or image.
The background was mostly achieved using color adjustments. I might have used a filter (don't remember) but it wasn't a posterize one.
As far as the background, again it was my design decision. And if you look closely it's not just plain white.

The colors are just beautiful...The look of the box and the overall presentation is just so official looking, which is something I personally love to see. Fantastic.
