A custom DVD cover for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie I made a few days ago (the official DVD will be out in September). This was my first full presentation of a DVD cover, hope you guys like it!

Nice front, but you can do better with the back like having more readable text and a tagline, the background on the back is boring, well what you can see of it.

Thanks a lot! And for the feedback, also. I agree that the back doesn't have anything special, basically because I made it in a rush haha. And yeah, a tagline would have been great. Will try to do better next time!

I think the contrast and colors work really well. Your cover is done well, but the back is severely lackluster in comparison. There is a lack of hierarchy and having everything centered on an image doesn't help it (especially since some of the text becomes unreadable in certain places). I think adding more black to the top half would work better to clear things up and offer you a background to fix the summary and add a headline.. A headline would be a good addition and reorganizing the other information so it works better.
But yeah, I apologize if my criticism seems harsh, but I think the quality of your front should reflect the quality of the back because I definitely see a lot of potential.

First of all, no need to apologize, I believe that every criticism is meant to help progressing. And obviously I'm always happy to get some feedback rather than nothing at all! So I agree with you and thank you.
I really need to improve on that facet, sure. This is also my first back cover so I also didn't know exactly what to add and where to put everything, just wanted to get something that is as simple as possible and as organized as I could make it look (even if it seems like I failed a bit haha). Will see what I can do for the rest! Thanks again. :D
